a little SURPRISE ; « Thread Started on Jun 5, 2007, 11:01pm »
Percy was ready. The anticipation was built up in his muscles. They were tense, excited, and almost a bit nervous. A smile curved upon Noah's face. Percy loved racing.
In an instant, the gelding was let free and he breezed down the raceway. His feet were quick and experienced, knowing where to put them and when to slow down and speed up. Noah leaned forward over Percy's handsome neck, bent down like a real jockey. He feet weren't used to the short stirrups - that would take some time. But both Percy and Noah loved this exhileration, this excitement, this fun. The pair sped down the raceway. There was no competition, yet both of them felt the accomplishment in racing. Noah's shaggy brown hair flew in the wind, and his ears felt a bit numb. The wind was chilly, but it was refreshing in the humid weather they were having today. Soon, the run was over.
At the end of the track, after walking off Percy, Noah Belanger dismounted. He threw the leather reins over Percy's head, and used them as a lead rope to bring the bay gelding to the stalls. A man approached the duo. "Hello.. I'm Joseph Sadling. You can call me Joe." The man introduced. He was older, with experience in his hands. "Hi Joe. I'm Noah Belanger. And this is Poseidon, or Percy." Noah replied. "I've been looking for a sponser horse for a while. I just saw you two run, and I'm wondering if you're interested in being sponsered in some races." He explained, laying a hand on Percy's sweaty side. "I'd love to!" Noah replied, a smile breaking out upon his face. Joe and Noah walked and talked, discussing possible races and training times.
